5 stars for effort in marketing but taste wise is 1 star. Hope this honest feedback will improve next new cake Creation. The honeydew cake just smash up when I cut it and it tasted bitter. I can see their are heading a low sugar trend but, the hand cut honey dew is really bland, so is the rest of the cake. Jelly, mousse and cake doesn't really goes well in this case. The cake went to the bin. The watermelon cake is slightly better, more firm to cut and looks cute but taste wise. Green is pandan cake, taste nice by its own, red and white is firmer mousse, finally there is a thin layer of red jelly, still doesn't suits our taste. It's 1/3 cake 2/3 mousse.

Why so hard to buy custard puff from this branch. Staff said 1.30 next delivery…at 1.50 arrival…staff said has to wait 20mins for her to finished stock-take the newly delivered stock. Most of time i dont see custard available. Maybe to ensure no left over night stock & fresh for the day. However, Notice is left display outside of the fridge! I prefer it to be cold/chilled while buying it fresh. 👌

I’m not surprised to see others mentioned about the poor service here. I’ve just experienced it myself 1 min ago. I wanted to buy a chocolate Swiss roll cake today. The moment I said what I wanted the staff replied: “don’t have” Then I said I just saw the stock arrived at the door step, are there for sale? Then she replied: u wait lor. Subsequently I took out my $10 note for her to process the payment first while I’m willing to wait. However she just stood there watching the delivery guy moving and refuse to take my money. She replied again: no no, u wait. Since she is not interested in making the sale at all...I left. I mean, I saw polar puffs and cakes tried to rebrand with a much more welcoming brand image. But the quality of service totally cannot keep up with the money spent on the branding. This is such a shame. In this incident, a customer is clearer about the stock availability than the staff. She could have said it’s temporary out of stock and the delivery man is arriving soon or let me check. I feel like I as a customer need to fight my way to proof the stock is available. This is really ridiculous.

Something is seriously wrong with their service training. Firstly kudos to them for employing senior citizens, which warrants the one star. Other than that I do not think they deserve any better. The price of their cakes have been secretly raising over the years. A mix fruit cake cost SGD8 which one can only cut into six smaller slices. Few years back SGD5 can get you the same thing. This outlet, like Compass One's, is a very small kiosk and service standards have been similarly lousy. The tone of the service staff is at best disinterested otherwise rude as if you owe them money. The rude and disinterested attitude cannot be an excuse for their senior citizens staff. Hence one can only conclude that these ex-retirees do not have the appropriate training. And it is a no-brainer that Polar seems to have now focus more on making money than preserving their local reputation of making reasonably priced nice local cakes. After patronizing this outlet and Compass One's many times with no charge in service standards despite feedback and complaints, I for one is seriously boycotting this brand for good: a sign of showing to these business owners that past relationships can bring you that far.
