We went there in a group of 3. We had the Tomato soup base and the Tom yum soup base. The location is good, lots of parking space, not in a congested area. However, we went there around dinner but the place was completely empty. Aside from another table, the restaurant was empty. The soup bases were mediocre, the variety was not vast for the price point but the food was always topped up. The seafood was not very fresh and smelled fishy. The shellfish were cleaned of sand but the scallops were not cleaned well and had lots of dirt and gunk on the shells. For it's price point, it's definitely not worth a second visit, with all the other options in Singapore as of today, you can get much better quality of food. Would not recommend

First of all, the location is at somewhat remote area. But it's atmosphere and ambiance is good at Basement 1 and quiet interesting. There is lot of variety of spices on chicken, fish and beef. Especially the teriyaki and BBQ are most liked. Where as crab, prawn, shell, etc., are plain options only. Less fried items like fried rice, prawn, and potato fry only. It's not refilled after 7pm. They leave it empty even though their last slot allowed to book 8.30pm. Every table is reserved for 90min and we booked on Friday 8pm.. Other than this, its just normal hotpot and nothing special about it. On counter we choose the tomato soup but on table they serve tomyum soup!! Apart from that, there is free flow of soft drinks and it's actually at good taste. Finally, finished with ice cream(vanilla, choco and strawberry) and fruits not top up after 8pm. Overall, it's 1 time visit and nothing special about it, where they are charing $38++ per head.

Me and my friends have made a reservation on 18 May for 5:30pm. Once we reached there, we waited about 5-10 mins for your service crew to come to the counter to take note of our reservation and orders. Surprisingly, we are the only group there. After selecting our food, we started to cook and we distributed the cutlery to one another. However, to our dismay, all the cutlery are dirty and not properly cleaned. It made us look for other cutlery at the cooked food counter, but almost all of them are the same dirty condition. We did not dare to use them and end up using the chopsticks & black spoons. We further ‘sanitise’ them using the hot boiling temperature of our soup bases. As we were cooking the meat, the non-stick paper and around the areas have charred. We thought of asking a replacement so that we can continue cooking, but we decided not to. There was no one checking on us if everything’s okay and the staff seemed uninterested. My friend also experienced some stale fish that had a sour taste and advised us not to eat it. We even feared and doubt the food safety in this restaurant. Overall, we did not have a pleasant experience and it was very disappointing indeed.

As someone who has worked as a waiter in a buffet restaurant for many years, I’m deeply disappointed by the service. My family waited at entrance to be seated for a good 5 minutes but no staff attended to us. We were perfectly okay to wait to be seated, I was disturbed by the fact that one of the staff has clearly seen us and were not serving any customers at that particular moment and yet she continued to ignore us. She was basically strolling up and down the restaurant. The whole restaurant only has 1 table being occupied on a Sunday afternoon and I think it is safe to conclude that the staff were not too occupied to attend to us. We left at the end and I couldn’t even provide any feedback to the staff in person since we “couldn’t get the staff’s attention”. As I read through the reviews after this negative experience, I noticed there were other customers who also had the similar experience.

money that we paid for was NOT worth it. started out seeing the operating hours for dinner was till 11pm. as my family were busy with working hours, decided to booked @ 8:30pm for dinner on fri nite. was shocked upon arrival as NOT a lot of food served. food was NOT HOT and was HARD too. the meats and seafood were not fresh. Some of the meats just tasted sour and inedible. the grill also took a very long time to cook the meats. While there was a ride range of flavors for the meats, many of them just tasted bland or not that different from each other after grilling. plates and bowls served were too small. we paid for service charge and our plates weren’t cleared. my mum took the last few of 1 of the dishes served and she did told the staffs that the food needs to be top-up and they said that they are preparing and will top-up but it’s just a LIE and nothing was being top-up at all. drinks served are too very sweet also. had to pay additional for HOT drinks if we wants it. i’m totally disappointed with the service and food. confirmed will NOT recommend. Our 1st time there and will be our Last.. totally disappointing..! bad food and bad service..! 👎👎👎 would rather recommend Captain Kim..
