I've been wanting to visit this popular Indonesian Street Food stall in Funan Mall for awhile now and so glad I got the chance to sample their scrumptious offerings a few weeks ago ~ Martabak (or "Mutabbaq) is a stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread. It's name in arabic means folded and is a popular street food in Indonesia, Yemen, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. We tried the following: 》Original Choco-Cheese | A warm fluffy pancake stuffed with their secret melted choco recipe topped with premium cheddar cheese. The pancake is then slathered with an aromatic Wijsman butter and condensed indomilk. The sweet + savoury flavour combo is ideal for someone like me who is obsessed with choco and cheese, indulgence at its finest - this one's a must try! 》Chicken Martabak (Martabak Telur) | This savoury meat-filled martabak is right up my alley, I thoroughly enjoyed its generous filling (chicken, eggs, green onions, shallots and garlic) which was packed with flavour and that crispy golden brown exterior was totally delightful. 》Salted Egg Indomie Martabak (Chicken) | The springy @indomie noodles coated with a rich/creamy homemade salted egg sauce combined with the martabak was so addictive, pleasantly surprised how the flavours worked so well together. 》Bakso (Beef Meatball Soup) | This is one of the street food staples in Indonesia and is made from scratch using only authentic and premium ingredients. The handmade jumbo meatballs were chewy and seasoned perfectly which complimented the soup/vermicelli noodles. It was served with sambal and kecap manis on the side to add that sweet + spicy kick, such a hearty dish. 》Biscoff Cookie Latte | It's made of Indonesian milk coffee with generous amounts of biscoff spread, crumbs and biscuits - my sweet tooth was totally satisfied with this dessert drink.

With reference to the receipt, I submitted my order at 1.39pm. At about 2.05pm, I proceeded to the counter to asked if my order was ready because well, it has been closed to 15 mins and my queue number was not called yet. The counter staff look around and noticed that my order was already on his counter table. I expected basic service apology but nothing. So I proceeded to take the food and head back to my seat. At this juncture, my drink (Fresh Ice Lemon Tea) was not prepared/ready. My view on the Chicken Rendang: Rice was hard, obviously not enough water when cooking it. Chicken Rendang portion was okay but I expected the taste to be more authentic. Ambience: Indo food theme right? Should the music complement the theme too? Overall for the price paid and its popularity, I expected better service and taste. For sure there are rooms for improvement.

The food here is good, worthy of 3-4 stars, but the thing that turns me off is that in order to get a free tea, leaving a review is not enough; I was being told to leave a 5 stars review. Not 5 stars, no tea. In my opinion, this is not how reviews should be used, and this store seems to use this incentive to “game” their ratings on Google Maps.

Ok. Was given a free drink for this review. Can customise order using touchscreens to add extra ingredients @ higher cost. Can't downgrade to reduce cost /meet dietary requirements. I had the indie martabak for sg$11.90 incl gst. It was spicy + tasty.
