Espoir got my attention due to the sheer variety in the menu, and it is so tempting to try all the dishes featuring my favourite seafood such as Scallops, Prawns, Crabs and Uni. The food has the core of European cuisine with dishes such as dips, croquettes, steak, pasta, paella and intricate desserts. What makes the food here special is the sprinkling of Malayan spices into the food, giving the taste an extra oomph. The food here is well-suited to our local palates, making this place a great choice for family outings. In fact, this is one of the most family-friendly atas restaurants in Singapore. Ample of space, plush seats, bright surroundings with beautiful, watercolours inspired, marble walls, golden trimmings and classy floral arrangements make for a lovely place to enjoy some relaxing time with loved ones. The ambience is also great for dates and high-tea. And the service is nice, thoughtful and friendly. The moment I pop a Gambas Al Ajillo into my mouth, my eyes widen and the first thought is, “Oh my, this is oh so delicious!” Succulent, bouncy and firm prawns are packed with so much briny sweetness, which is elevated by the sauce made from an amazing mix of Szechuan pepper, pink peppercorns, kaffir lime, garlic and sweet paprika. The slight hint of spiciness makes the taste so exciting. Highly recommended dish. Espoir’s Signature Pasta is so luxurious in terms of ingredients and so rich in taste. I love, of course, love the fresh sweet uni hidden beneath the lovely caviar. I also love the flat texture of the pasta, which hold in the umami of the sauce onto its surface for a tasty treat with every mouthful of the pasta. The char on the scallop does well to balance out the richness of the pasta and sauce. Matcha Moelleux is matcha lava cake made with white chocolate, and this is really good. The floral flavour of Earl Grey Gelato goes so well with the vegetal grassy notes of matcha, elevated by the richness of cocoa butter. I ordered the special Birthday Celebration cake while making my reservation because … okay, I admit, I just want to try this cake lol The Blue Lagoon Mousse, Pineapple compote, Chantilly Whip combined to yield a beautiful cake with very refreshing taste. Partially frozen pineapple actually works beautifully in a cake! The presentation is so awesome. I’m so glad that I ordered this special cake. I sure feel special at this moment ❤️ Thoughts: Nice Restaurant with unique Malayan flavours

there was only this other group, celebrating birthday when I came for lunch. it seems that they are friends or family with owner/manager. request for warm water was ignored twice. we did order our own cocktails though. if the restaurant was packed, i would understand that the staff was overwhelmed but did feel neglected when it was clear no one checked on us but the other group who was next to us. with the hefty price tag, i expected better service. when i did the reservation, i did indicate a birthday cake and drinks but they forgot about that till i want to make payment. they ask if i want to pack the cake and drinks instead. i said nope because they had spoilt the “surprise”. i will not return or recommend others to dine here. the paella was good though

First time at a upscale muslim-owned restaurant! The entire decor and feel of the restaurant was really ups. We ordered the seared scallops, crab croquettes, tiger prawn pasta, tagliatte chilli crab, pan seared salmon, chicken cordon Bleu! Each dish was served and prepared nicely. Didn't had to wait too long for each dish as well. Overall it was a nice dining experience with the right portion. Would recommend to visit this place again.

Very pretty place, very pretty food, staff was pleasant, but taste wise was just mediocre to me. It was nice, but I won’t be coming back for more. Had high hopes for this place but the mains were really very average. Tried the highly raved sea urchin tagliatelle and the beef ribs. Possibly one of the good ones in the halal restaurant establishments but there are better tasting ones out there. It was worth the first try I guess. Desserts however were pretty good.

The cost of the dining experience was notably high; however, the quality of the food left much to be desired. The scallop, touted as a popular dish, was surprisingly bland, and the burrata failed to meet the standards I've encountered at other fine establishments. On a brighter note, the presentation was reasonably acceptable. The paella did not encapsulate the expected authenticity of its flavor profile and was excessively salty. Given the price point, one would anticipate a more exclusive and delectable taste from the lamb dish. There was a significant disconnect between the quality and taste of the food and the accompanying price. Personally, I won't be returning, and I may hesitate to recommend it to others.
