Terribly rude staff. We came in a group of 6 initially and was given 2 menus. Then we ask for more menus and was only given 1 more. We were also rudely told to surrender the menu even though we were looking at other things to order after our additional group of 10 came. This shop has 2 levels and cannot even bear to take out more copies of menu. For me, I ordered the garlic cheese naan and when the product came, it was SOOO different from the photo on the wall. Taste bad too. To be fair, the only good thing is the ambience of the shop. It is clean and well ventilated.

Was invited for a lunch with my ex colleagues and didn't expect to find delicious food! The restaurant is located quite a short walk from Outram Community Hospital and in an alley after row of shophouses/restaurants - bringing the true meaning of a hole in the wall! A sign will bring you to the second floor where the restaurant is. For a space that is quite limited to accommodate diners, probably around 20-24 pax, the menu is quite extensive with Indian and Western dishes. Unfortunately, on the day of the visit, one of the chefs were away so only Western dishes are available for order. I gave the service a 5 star because on the day of my visit, there was only one server and he was also in charge of preparing the drinks and we did not even have to wait long for him to serve us. So really kudos to him! We decided to order Parmesan Fries, Pizza, Chicken Cutlet and Bolognaise pasta. If you are ordering to share, the Pizza could be an option for sharing as the portion is shareable and allows you to enjoy the other entrées such as the Chicken cutlet and the pasta. For starter, the Parmesan Fries is alright but we did not regret ordering that Pizza. It was baked to the right chewy texture with the right amount of toppings and cheese that made it such a delight to have! The Chicken cutlet was crispy, juicy and tender and marinated well. But my favorite was the Bolognaise pasta (i think you could choose between spaghetti and penne. Mine was penne). The pasta was al dante, the meat sauce was thick and packed with flavors, coating each penne smoothly without that dripping liquid sauce that some restaurants are guilty of committing (foodies would relate!). With a dash of cheese, it was satisfying to finish that bowl of pasta. As mentioned earlier, the place is rather compact and therefore may not be a very good place for any long chat and may not be able to accomodate large group. It may be more for quick lunch with colleagues before you grab coffees from the surrounding cafes. All in all it was a deliciously satisfying lunch and will definitely come back to this restaurant if I am around Outram area.

This place is not getting the hype & crowd it DESERVES. Food tasted exceptional and flavourful. Highlight was the beef ragu penne (it was one of the best I've tasted and loved the juicy stew-like beef "strips"), 2nd was the rib eye as its meat cuts like butter even with a spoon. The black pepper sauce was generous and yummy. Prices were reasonable for its flavour and portion. Location was accessible by public, parking space was convenient and steps away from the restaurant. Hope management will make changes to its interior (lights were a little bright for my eyes, do consider removing the chilli sauces, sugar and water bottle from the table), change the menu fonts (a little difficult to read), can explore into having high table bar seating concept to cater to more pax and work on more brand awareness for this restaurant be causeeveryone who loves a spectacular well seasoned dish SHOULD DINE at Halal Hangout. If you love an extra kick, do request to add chilli padi into your pastas and thank me later hehe.

Went here for Iftar and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions of the food. Had the chicken cutlet, it tasted alright and the pricing point was reasonable too. I would definitely recommend this to my friends.
