Read about this highly rated halal Japanese restaurant within Ayer Rajah CC. Place is small as it only seats 16 max. We arrived at 12.20pm and the place was deserted. Hearts sank very quickly. After scanning the menu at our table, we decided to order a Tuna Bowl and a Salmon Tuna Bowl. Unfortunately we were informed that all Tuna items were removed from the menu. This was pointed out to us using the menu at the ordering station. Wonder why they did not state this on the menus left at the table. So we ended up with a Beef Bowl and a Salmon Bowl, both adding onsen egg. Together with 2 cups of hot tea, cost was $24. Not exactly cheap. Both the beef bowl and the salmon bowl had the same problem. The proteins tasted great but the rice was cold. Which was surprising because I saw it being ladled out from a rice cooker. We ended up leaving half a bowl of rice after we finished our proteins. Lesson learned for me. I’ll stick to my favourite Japanese restaurants when I am yearning Chirashi bowls.

i visited on first day of opening: -friendly staff :)) -gave complimentary drink and tamago -simple cozy interior and baby chairs available so good for family and friends living nearby -also convenient for students like me who study in ayer rajah cc study room -muslim owned so halal -relatively affordable prices for ala carte -portion is just right but for those who dont eat that much rice i would recommend to request for lesser rice -had the salmon bowl and the salmon was fresh :) food is nice overall a friendly neighbourhood store that i will revisit
